Improvements to the public realm are key to the regeneration of Harrow. The council has identified the areas that are in greatest need of work, including St Annís Road, which attracts significant footfall due to the presence of two indoor shopping centres.
Regenerating and updating the outdated buildings on this street is the aim behind the project to improve the appearance of the shopping area. Building work is also ongoing to the adjoining Station Road. The public realm is being improved here, with new paving, lighting and street furniture.
A project funded by the Outer London Fund for Havelock Place, a route which crosses this main shopping centre, is also under way, bringing a whole suite of improvements to this key area for regeneration.
