Station Road Quarter is a flagship project within Harrow's regeneration programme, with the potential to transform the local area, place the borough at the forefront of regeneration practice in London, and set the standard for other development schemes in Harrow.
The project provides opportunities for developers, housing associations and custom-build groups to help develop the site over the next 5-7 years and take a key role in creating a new residential urban quarter for the borough.
The council intends to leverage its role as landowner to transform the site into a medium to high density, compact urban quarter with
● Circa 800 to 900 new high quality homes including private for sale, shared ownership, affordable rent, social rent and council owned private rental homes
● A new primary school, community space, new ground floor retail and commercial space for small and medium enterprises, helping to foster a local economy and create a community feel and sense of neighbourliness
● A new high quality public realm and landscape, leading to a new civic square opposite Harrow Central Mosque, a new street to Harrow and Wealdstone Station and improved approach to the Station Road flyover to Wealdstone
● Space for innovative delivery of new housing models including potential for individual and group custom build
