A South Harrow firm that provides brownie gift treats through a delivery service has won a Dragonís Den-style competition this month.

Harrow Business Den is the borough’s biggest networking event providing an opportunity for industry experts from the region to offer support and advice to budding entrepreneurs.

The annual event organised by Harrow Council whittled down entries to four finalists who got to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.

This year’s Harrow Business Den winner was Letterbox Brownies, which is a company that creates brownie boxes with personalised messages that can be sent across the UK.

As suggested by the firm’s name the treat boxes can fit through a letterbox, and all packaging that is used is recyclable.

The company won a year’s supply of business support after they were chosen as this year’s winner.

This year’s judging panel featured special guest Harrow entrepreneur Shalini Gupta Patel, founder of Red Dot Jewels, which creates handcrafted Indian-inspired fine jewellery.

The competition’s runner-up was iParcelBox, which provides secure and weatherproof smart parcel delivery box for packages.

The remaining two finalists included Sudbury-based MAD Naturally, which is a handmade vegan and cruelty-free cosmetic range, and educ8all Ltd that is a virtual platform with access to courses for primary, secondary and college students.
