Leisure centre rating boost

Harrow Leisure centre has been awarded with a 'very good' score in an independent industry assessment of UK leisure facilities, an improvement on its previous 'good'score.
Quest, the leisure quality scheme managed by Sport England noted the centre's customer service, the standard of facilities and its interaction with different users as 'key strengths' in determining the improved score.
Better lighting in its events spaces and pool hall, new lockers, improvements to toilet facilities and general redecoration also contributed to the new rating.
Opening 40 years ago, the centre has about 6,000 members; it is expecting to reach 1.4 million visits by the end of 2017.
Sue Anderson, Harrow Council's portfolio holder for community, culture and resident engagement, said: "It might not look like much from the outside but on the inside, it is awesome; a gem of a fitness facility for all residents to enjoy.
"We all knew that before – but now that is has been noticed officially there really is no excuse for Harrow residents not to get down here and see for themselves."
